Havaianas is a Brazilian brand of flip flops rubber produced by São Paulo Alpargatas, a Group company Camargo Corrêa. The brand, which has 80% stake in the Brazilian rubber slippers, sell sabout 162 million shoes annually, of which 10% toover 80 countries on five continents, can be found in more than 200,000 points of sale. Exports reach 22 million pairs (only the United States ispresent in 1,700 points of sale). The three Brazilians, two on average consume a pair of Havaianas for years. Worldwide

In 1997 was created the foreign trade department of Havaianas in order to increase exports. The first step was the reorganization of the entire network of distributors. Some events have occurred forspreading the brand and in France in 2004, where the typical Brazilian colored sandals sold three thousand pairs.

The distributor was one of the most worked on the concept of the brand, partnering with large stores like the mall on March 25 and Extra hypermarkets.

Another factor that led to the brand’s success abroad was when, in 2003, were produced so phisticated models with rubies for Oscar nominees and placed in special packaging with a photo of each one mimicking a mirror. The shoes were delivered the next day indicated the Academy Awards.

In recent years, the profit generated by the export of Havaianas quadrupled and the countries thatbuy the most are the United States and Finland.
